Recently I have remembered the lines from the prayer that Jesus taught on the mountain:

“Keep us out of harm’s way”
and remembered that in my childhood I went to church quite often and was taught to say this prayer in the evening. I don’t mean to write down a religious text here, it is a reflection on the prayer and on this line in this case.
Most people when they say these words in praying implicitly know that it validates them as receivers of the grace as well as they promise to keep the others out of harm’s way.
This prayer is a very powerful contract between you, as a praying soul and God/Universe. As above so below. God/Universe/Life Energy keeps you safe and you do the same with your fellow people. As you receive this gift from above you pass it on to other people. Would you keep it just for yourself? If God keeps us safe then we are doing the same for our children, for our loved ones, for the people that we work with, for those who provide us with a home, food and the things that we need. We do our best to keep our promise and not just go on with our daily business, self-content and insensible to the situation of other people.
You get a sense of community and belonging. Maybe this is also a cure for loneliness – being involved in keeping someone else safe and out of harm’s way means the end of loneliness. Wow, so much stuff that you get from one line of prayer!

And if you add the encouragement “Ask and you shall receive” then it all becomes easier and we just need to take that first step and ask! If praying is not something that you do, you can change this into a meditation and use this words to meditate on.
Do you know someone who seems to be lonely or who you know that he or she is lonely? Let us do this together and ask that this person is being protected, we can do a meditation or a prayer at home or at the church!
