Year Review 2023 🏫

With a few days left till the new year is coming, this is the right time to look back and record the important moments of 2023 and which of the New Year’s Resolutions were kept. This year I have had three goals and let’s see them and how much progress did I make.

Reduce Plastic

Right at the beginning of January I had this sense, it is time to reduce the number of plastic packaging such as purchase bags, wrapping, yogurts, cosmetic bottles and so on. One quite big change was that I have stopped buying yogurts that come in plastic cups and instead buy them in jars. I was pleasantly surprised since the taste of these jar packaged yogurts is a lot better! wow

For packaging vegetables we luckily have the option of reusable nets, which can also be washed if necessary. In all, when getting veggies and fruits I opt to avoid using a supplementary bag, except for cases such as having many small pieces (nuts, figs etc.).

Looking through my creams, shampoo and such, I found that some of them have PE as an ingredient and I have decided that I will avoid these in the future. I found a nice 2-in-1 gel and shampoo from Lavera, which is great for my hair and skin and also does not use PE as an ingredient. When shopping for a new face cream, I looked through to find one that comes in a glass jar instead of plastic.

And riding the wave I also checked my member cards and dropped a couple of those since it occurred to me that I didn’t really benefit from them.

Work More

You might think, who really wants to work more??? well, me 🙂

Being self employed there is some room for growth and I was hoping to get some new projects and find a couple of people to work with. There was little progress in this area, something to continue next year. The main blockage was that I had to move out of the rent apartment and that took a lot of time. Also the moving and the getting settled in the new apartment was very energy consuming.

Make More Friends

Yay! that was the fun goal for 2023. Sadly, we got into some weird times and the overall atmosphere was rather hostile, especially starting October. So all in all, I didn’t make new friends but there are definitely good chances to achieve it since I moved in the new place.

Conclusion

Even if it was challenging, 2023 was a good year and I was happy that at least one of my goals was reached. Sometimes we cannot control the events that affect our lives.
